Indiana Authors Breakfast

Meridian Hills Country Club: 7099 Spring Mill Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260
This fundraising event will feature six Indiana authors. There will be a private reception 30 minutes prior to the breakfast for corporate and patron donors to meet the authors. A sit down breakfast will be served. After breakfast, there will be a short program that will last about 30-40 minutes. The highlight of the program will include a 5 minute interview with each author.
Indiana Authors:
Amanda Huntley
Book: Meanwhile, Miles. "Meanwhile Miles" is a whimsical picture book featuring Miles McGuffrey, a ten year old boy whose imagination simply cannot be contained by the four walls of his classroom. He spends his days in a series of delightful fantasies, but when each fantasy goes awry how will he escape?
The Author: Amanda Huntley is a part time writer, part time doula, and full time mom and Army wife. She has been internationally published in both fiction anthologies and professional journals. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys teaching creative writing and working with The Tuck Me In Foundation, a non-profit organizaiton that she started that provides recordings of convicted offenders reading a bedtime story to their children. Mike Mullenax
Book: The Blanket. The complexity of love, at times, cannot be easily explained. The emotions that flood over two people can spill over and create a wonderful live, or sadly cause pain and sadness to even the most loving people. Since childhood, a “Blanket” has comforted people through birth, long winter nights, and the twilight of ones’ own life. The Blanket is a story for all who have wondered what love might have been.
The Author: Mike Mullennax has been a professional fire fighter for 24 years. Encouraged by the events in his life, and the lives of others, he wrote this book for all those who loved and lost. Mike lives in Indianapolis with his wife and two children, Samantha and Jacob. He has plans for several more novels.
Susan Barta
Book: A Case of Intent. Detesting lies and attempting to change her life, Nancy Drew Peerson is now an intern for Washington National Opera, living in her godparents' condo in Crystal City, Virginia, and working hard to suppress old habits. However the handsome stranger she meets, and events for the Blue Danube Recital will lead her face to face with her past, her identity, and the worst lie of all--the one to herself.
The Author: A Case of Intent is P.S. Barta's first novel. Now a freelance writer and media producer, she lived in Washington, D.C. while attending American University. Politics, government, history and metaphysics have been her long time interests and involvement. She lives currently in the Indianapolis Metro area.
Chris Clouser
Book: A Month of Saturdays: A Guide to Indiana’s Public Golf Courses. A Month of Saturdays is a guided tour of the best public golf courses around the State of Indiana. The Hoosier State contains some of the most underrated public golf in the country. While not only having high quality, almost all is affordable and an easy drive away. All of this makes Indiana one of the best states in the union to plan a golf trip. The book also lays out the entire state in a day-by-day plan so that it can be approached by anyone with additional hints for lodging, attractions, and other courses for the golf fanatic. Each course is also presented with color photographs.
The Author: Chris Clouser is a part time writer who resides in Noblesville, Indiana. He has written one other book, contributed to multiple other works, and has had several articles published.
Robert Cosmer
Book: Mussolini’s Money. Jim Salvatore is an alcoholic bar owner from northwest Wisconsin. His grandfather fought in Operation Husky with General Patton's armored forces to liberate Sicily. The only reminder Jim has of his grandfather is an old ammunition crate he brought back from the war. His grandfather lined the crate with cedar and made it into a clothes chest. Jim had all but forgotten about the chest until the Sicilian Mafia showed up and tried to kill him and steal his chest. The Mafia didn't plan on Jim being so resourceful.
The Author: Robert Cosmer was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. His childhood years were spent with family and friends in the north suburb of Carmel. Upon graduating from Carmel High School, Robert attended Purdue University where he became a member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. After four years at Purdue, he returned home to help run the family manufacturing business. Robert still resides in Indianapolis with his two dogs
Sandra Vardaman
Book: Nightmares can be Murder. Nightmares Can Be Murder plunges two innocent girls into the worl of the powerful Northcliff family where greed and a deadly secret that has spanned over sixty years has threatened the lives of those that come in contact with it. Can Joanna and Maddie obtain the evidence that will reveal the killer's identity, or will they become the next victims?
The Author: Sandra L. Vardaman lives in Plainfield, Indiana. Her stories have been featured in Indiana Authors 2007 Stories From the Heartland for Children. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators
